On June 16, 2006 the Vermont arts Council
held its 2006 Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony in the State
House Chamber in Montpelier. The event included the presentation
of the 2006 Walter Cerf Lifetime Achievement Award to renown
painter Lucien Day.
Lucien Day is one of the key founders of
the Soho art movement and originator of the Green Mountain
Gallery now the Blue Mountain Gallery. Lucien Day's art has
been exhibited in various Museums and Galleries. See Reviews

Lucien Day painted and photographed many
New York City buildings many of them
while the buildings were under construction, his paintings
capture a time in history. Lucien Day has painted landscapes
and portraits. Here is an excerpt on perspective from the
Hudson River Museum book; The World is Round " The
earth is curved beneath our feet. The biosphere encases it,
and each of us lives in a world of visual experience, part
earth, part biosphere, something of the free multifaceted
endlessness of reality is suggested by the curve..."
